Growing up in San Diego, CA, Cathy Stanfield cherished a childhood spent on the coastal beaches, where she ran along sandy shores and spent countless hours swimming in the ocean surf. Even as a creative child, she believed in capturing dreams much like a surfer catches the next big wave—through confidence, patience, and well-timed action.
Upon graduating from high school, Cathy set her sights on the modeling industry. With unwavering determination and hard work, she secured a contract with the prestigious international agency, Elite Model Management. This opportunity catapulted her career to Paris, France, and eventually to New York City. Fueled by her passion for success, Cathy's creative journey was just beginning to gain momentum.
After spending several years gracing the covers and pages of fashion magazines worldwide, working with renowned photographers, Cathy Stanfield's interest in the view behind the lens began to grow. Between studio sessions for magazines like Glamour, Vogue, and Cosmopolitan, she dedicated herself to photography and fine art classes. Balancing a thriving modeling career with various freelance art and photography projects became a fulfilling counterbalance to her busy schedule.
Throughout these years, Cathy returned to her native California and studied art and interior design at The Design Institute of San Diego. While modeling on location in Seattle for the retail store Nordstrom, she discovered the stunning beauty of the Pacific Northwest and made a move to relocate. Now retired from the fashion industry, Cathy spends her days creating art from her home studio nestled in the serene Olympic Peninsula, passionately creating and embracing the natural beauty that surrounds her.
